George E. Goddam bitch

I woke up yesterday with a sore neck. I had my nephew's second birthday party to go to and I didn't want to miss it so I managed to get washed and dressed and go over to my Mum's house. But as the day went on my neck got so sore, I was unable to move it to the left at all, it got frozen with my head tilted to the right, and I had spasms every time I tried to move.

I barely got any sleep with it last night, and I think I've cried more in the past two days than I have all of last year. So I went to the Doctors this morning and he diagnosed me with acute torticollis, also known as Wry neck. It can be caused by a few different reasons, one being a virus in the muscle. So the Doctor has given me a set of physiotherapy exercises to do, and has put me on Diazepam to ease the spasms.

My range of motion has improved, but it's still really sore. And the valium makes me really sleepy.

I also mentioned my headaches to him and he thinks it's nothing serious, maybe something like a nerve misfiring. If the tablets I'm on now don't help that too he's going to put me on Amitriptyline. So it will be good to finally get that sorted out, I've been having them since September.

OK, moaning over!
